Frequently Asked Questions

What is the story behind the SAMAVAI garments?
Our garments are made from vintage saris, deadstock textiles, and handloom fabrics. The garments are cut and sewn in India and the US. Any signs of wear and distress are unique to the fabric and its history.

What materials are SAMAVAI garments made of?
We try to make all garments out of natural fibers when possible. We work mostly with silk, cotton, linen and organza.

How do I care for my garment?
We recommend Dry Cleaning and Spot Cleaning for all of our garments. Please do not put your garments in a washing machine or dryer. The fibers may be delicate so please treat your garment with tender love and care.

We are currently producing XS-3XL. Please see the size measurements listed on the individual garments’ pages.
